How was the winter and what am I doing in spring

Art

I have painted some art pieces that were particularly fun to work on and at the same time are still bringing me a lot of joy just by their existence in my portfolio:

I wanted to participate in Plein Airpril at least in some capacity to get more comfortable in painting backgrounds.

Plein Airpril 2026

Environment paintings for #pleinairpril. My goal was to make 10 sketches throughout the month and become more confident with creating environments for future illustration work. Also I was testing 'Around the world' randomiser category from Art Mewse.

Coding

Art Mewse - new iteration of my drawing ideas randomiser for iOS. This one, despite its simplicity, brings me a lot of satisfaction. Also React Native is much more coder-friendly than Swift (and I am so grateful for that!)

Art Portfolio (aka this website). I have switched to Next.JS for it, and everything is in the early stage of development, and maybe a lot of things will change over time. However, it would be great to make a proper 'How it was done' page just to document the process.

Learning

Diving into webflow in the next few days (weeks?)

I am a bit ashamed since I have not been learning anything in particular (except being haunted by our Norsk lessons) but I am still very proud of all the [not so great and a bit wonky] coding during last months.

Media consumption

Reading: Colony by Max Kidruk (and this is definitely the book that is desperately needed to be translated in English for the wider audience)
Watching: re-watched Martian, well, because Colony is partly about Mars, and just before it we watched Project Hail Mary.
Playing: for now only Stardew Valley
Music: Spotify in my car is sure that I must listen exclusively to Rumours by Fleetwood Mac and as a result I am sure that app programmers should have written code by themselves.
